The aim is to design new individual private dwellings that sit successfully and elegantly within their surrounding context, whilst adhering to the detailed desires and functional requirements of the clients.
The ‘Hemcrete’ House
A single storey two-bedroom detached dwelling in the back garden of an existing large detached house. An oval-shaped form with flat ‘green’ roof: designed to minimise its impact on the surrounding houses and gardens.
The ‘Hidden’ House
A two-storey 4-bedroom detached dwelling on a steep sloping garden plot. A ‘hidden’ house, where the two floors are set down below the level of the access lane, with car parking on the front area of the flat roof and a ‘wild habitat garden’ on the rest of the roof.
The ‘Cotswolds Vernacular’ Eco House
A traditionally designed two-storey 5-bedroom detached dwelling, conceived to fit within the local Cotswolds vernacular of the village, yet constructed as a super-insulated and airtight dwelling, with triple-glazed windows and MVHR, to meet ‘Passivhaus’ standards.
