The Cotswold ‘Cavity Wall Passivhaus’ Extension
A major 2-storey extension to an existing Cotswold stone cottage, providing significant extra ground floor reception space and extra first floor bedrooms. The project has been developed based on a traditional cotswold stone faced cavity wall construction, but with a much higher level of insulation and airtightness, and incoporating a Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) system. The aim is to provide the clients with a Passivhaus-standard dwelling, whilst retaining the historic context of the existing old stone cottage.
