The ‘Brick House’ Extension
A single-storey side extension to a large 1930s-style detached brick house, providing a new dining area, and opened up to a renovated kitchen in the existing house.
The extension successfully connects the existing kitchen (at the rear of the property) with the extensive gardens to the side and front.
The construction is deliberately contemporary, conceived as a clearly defined rendered extension which retains the integrity of the original brick house.
The south-facing glass sliding doors are shaded from the more intense summer sunshine by a weathered zinc clad roof overhanging canopy.
